Air Tanzania will today commenced direct flight operations between Lagos, Nigeria, and Dar es Salaam, marking a significant advancement in connectivity between West and East Africa.
The new route establishes a direct link that was previously unavailable, eliminating the need for lengthy layovers in other countries for travellers moving between the two regions.
The launch of this service is seen as a major boost for trade, tourism, and economic cooperation. It is expected to greatly benefit business communities, tourists, and families by providing a faster and more efficient travel option.
The flight connection is also a practical step toward deeper African integration, aligning with the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
To mark the occasion, the Tanzanian High Commission in Nigeria is hosting a celebratory dinner this evening in Victoria Island, Lagos. The event will bring together government officials, diplomats, and business leaders to acknowledge this milestone in bilateral relations.
