Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has demonstrated his compassionate side by gifting his teammate, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, ₦10 million to support him during the burial of his late parents, Chief Nwabali Godspower Onyekamu and Mrs. Grace Nwabali.
Stanley Nwabali recently announced the burial arrangements for his parents, describing the moment as one of “unimaginable grief”. He expressed his pain in a heartfelt message shared alongside the burial poster on his Instagram, saying, “About time to put my dad and mom to rest. Something I never imagined doing so soon at this point of my life. Difficult to believe I will never set my eyes on you again. It’s a different kind of pain I never wish for my enemy. Thank you for everything”.
The burial activities spanned three days, starting from Thursday, June 5, 2025, with a Service of Songs at the late Chief’s residence. The final burial rites took place on Saturday, June 7 ¹.
This generous gesture by Osimhen showcases his kindness and solidarity with his teammate during a difficult time. It’s worth noting that Osimhen has previously received support from his club and the Nigeria Football Federation during challenging times, such as when he lost his father. On that occasion, his club, Lille, provided a private jet for him to attend the burial.
