The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled seven-hour power interruption along the 132kV Amukpe/Benin Transmission Line on Saturday, May 24, 2025, to carry out critical preventive maintenance.
The maintenance, scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., is aimed at ensuring the reliability of the transmission infrastructure.
According to a statement by the company’s GM Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, during this period, bulk electricity supply through the line will be suspended to guarantee the safety of maintenance personnel.
As a result, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) will be unable to distribute power to several areas, including Adeje, Industrial, Woodland, Mosogar, Abraka, and Sapele. Residents and businesses in these locations should expect temporary power outages throughout the maintenance window.
TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, apologized for the inconvenience and assured customers that normal power supply would resume immediately after the completion of the maintenance work.
“We regret any disruption this may cause and appreciate the understanding of electricity consumers in the affected areas,” Mbah stated. “Our team is committed to completing the work promptly to restore full transmission service.”
