The Office of the Senate President has firmly denied recent claims made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing them as “manipulative drama” and part of a pattern of attention-seeking behavior. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who is currently under suspension, had alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio recruited former Governor Yahaya Bello in a plot to assassinate her in Kogi State.
In a statement issued from his office, Senator Akpabio dismissed the allegations as baseless and dangerous, warning that such unverified claims risk inciting public unrest and undermining national institutions.
The Senate President also referenced a past accusation by the same senator, in which she accused him of sexual harassment—another claim she later dropped without clarification.
“This is not the first time Senator Natasha has made serious allegations without evidence,” the statement read. “Her repeated narratives of victimhood and false accusations are troubling and should not be used to manipulate public opinion or tarnish reputations.”
The Senate presidency urged Nigerians to be wary of politically motivated claims designed to distract from legislative work and destabilize governance.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that a court has barred both Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senator Akpabio from granting media interviews regarding ongoing investigations and public disputes between them.
