Residents and businesses in parts of Lokoja, Kogi State, will experience a temporary power interruption today as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carries out essential maintenance work at its Lokoja 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation.
The scheduled exercise according to Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, which began at 10:30 am, is expected to last until 5:00 pm.
During this period, TCN engineers will conduct simultaneous maintenance on two key transformers—a 60MVA 132/33kV unit and a 150MVA 330/132/33kV unit.
As a result, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to distribute power from the affected transformers for six and a half hours. Areas to be impacted include Kaduna Junction, Kogi Poly, Zango Town, CBN, and Lokoja Town.
TCN has apologised for the inconvenience and assured residents that the maintenance is necessary to ensure long-term reliability of electricity supply. Normal operations are expected to resume by early evening.
