Mr. Bayo Ojulari has officially taken over as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), replacing Mele Kyari.
The handover ceremony, held at the NNPC Towers on Friday, marked the beginning of a new era at the national oil company.
Ojulari commended Kyari for his contributions to NNPC’s growth and pledged to consolidate on his predecessor’s achievements. He acknowledged the enormous targets set for his management but expressed confidence in achieving them with the cooperation of the company’s management and staff, as well as Kyari’s counsel.
“I will be counting on your support. I will need it. I will be coming around to seek your counsel,” Ojulari told Kyari during the ceremony.
Kyari, in his remarks, congratulated Ojulari and thanked the management and staff for their support during his tenure. He pledged to support the new management, emphasizing that he was only a call away.
Ojulari’s appointment is part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and restoring investor confidence in NNPC. President Bola Tinubu had removed Kyari as GCEO, citing the need for change.
