Nigerian afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about the unforgettable experience of marrying Chioma Adeleke in a grand wedding ceremony.
Davido described the lavish event as a “global celebration” that felt like a holiday in Nigeria.
He shared his experience on the recent episode of Bootleg Kev podcast, which was posted on X on Thursday.

The wedding, which took place in Lagos on June 25, 2024, attracted celebrities, politicians, and dignitaries from across the globe.
The event was highlighted by captivating performances from renowned artists like Chike, Fireboy DML, and King Sunny Ade, making it a memorable occasion.
Davido described the celebration as resembling the grandeur and vibrancy of the fictional African kingdom, ‘Zamunda.’
“This is a bound union now; we’ve had a whole wedding and we’ve invited all these people from across the world to celebrate us”.
“The wedding was in Nigeria; it was on some crazy Zamunda shit, mad crazy. It was like a holiday in Nigeria and it was one of the best days of my life. Everybody flew in from all over the world to celebrate us,” he said.
Looking back on the momentous occasion, Davido stressed the need to safeguard their marriage, recognising the challenges that come with living in the public eye.
“I feel like a lot of popular people are very vulnerable, knowing that we have to be careful”, he added.
He appreciated the worldwide recognition of their love, describing the wedding as “one of the best days of my life.”
