One-Time Bundesliga winners, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, have slammed a €50m price tag on Super Eagles attacker, Victor Okoh Boniface, amidst transfer rumours linking him away from the club, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 24-year-old had a stellar debut season with Die Werkself, scoring 21 goals and providing nine assists in 34 games across all competitions while winning the league title and the DFB Pokal under Xabi Alonso.
However, Boniface’s form dipped this season as he scored just 11 goals in 27 outings for Leverkusen, largely due to injury. Ahead of the summer transfer window, it appears Leverkusen are trying to part ways with the Nigerian attacker.
According to a German outlet, Sport Bild, Bayer Leverkusen have lowered their asking price for striker Victor Boniface as they are looking to offload him this summer.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise forward was close to sealing a €70 million deal to Al-Nassr during the winter transfer window before the Saudi Arabian side performed a u-turn and opted to sign John Duran instead.
Since his failed January move, Boniface has been relegated to the bench and found the back of the net just twice as he struggled to perform when called upon.
