A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) from Kano State, Sanusi Musa, has urged the Kano State government to investigate the tragic incident that led to the death of 22 athletes who represented the state at the just-concluded National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
He also suggested that the families of the deceased (fallen heroes) should be compensated in accordance with Sharia law with the equivalent of 100 camels each.
According to Sanusi who posted on his Facebook account: “I think the first obligation of Kano State Government to the families of the 21 fallen heroes and Kano State people is to investigate the cause of the accident.
“Thereafter, a monetary compensation equivalent of 100 camels be paid to each family. Kano is a Sharia State and this where Sharia should be applied in toto” said Sanusi.
22 members of the Kano State contingent who were involved in a tragic road accident were returning from the National Sports Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
