Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, has opened up about the immense challenges he has faced since assuming office, describing his first 16 months as a gruelling experience.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Judges Quarters in Rivers State on Tuesday, the governor did not mince words as he reflected on the difficulties of his tenure while reaffirming his commitment to the state’s progress.
“It has not been an easy 16 months for me as Governor of Rivers State,” Fubara stated, “but what’s important is the interest of our state must be above personal interest.”
The governor’s remarks come amid ongoing political tensions and legal battles that have marked his administration. Despite the hurdles, Fubara emphasised his dedication to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the welfare of Rivers State residents.
“I want to say it here very loud and clear to everyone, the supreme court has given a judgement and my administration will implement the judgement to the fullest,” he declared, underscoring his resolve to abide by the court’s decision and prioritise the state’s interests over personal or political agendas.
The commissioning of the Judges Quarters, a project aimed at improving the welfare of judicial officers in the state, provided a backdrop for Fubara’s candid address.
