Akwa Ibom which is the host state of the ongoing Niger Delta Sports Festival, has so far won only 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
Delta State is however leading the medals table with 9 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze medals. This brings their total to 19 medals.
Bayelsa State follows closely with 8 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals, totaling 14.
Edo State is in third place with 2 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze medals, making 11 in total.
Rivers State has won 2 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals, bringing their total to 9.
Ondo State has 1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Their total is 6.
Imo State has 1 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Their total is 6.
Abia and Cross River states have 1 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals each.
The festival is taking place for the first time under the sponsorship of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, with more events scheduled.
