Former Senate President Bukola Saraki and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reconciliation Committee are currently in a closed-door meeting with the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah
Saraki confirmed via social media that he was in Enugu with Governor Mbah and PDP Strategy Committee members, for critical talks to reposition the party.
“I’m currently in Enugu State with His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, as well as Senators Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo, both members of the PDP Strategy and Way Forward Committee.
We’re here to have the necessary conversations—frank, focused, and long overdue—as we work to reposition our party for the future it deserves”. Saraki said.
The emergency meeting follows recent claims by APC’s Dave Umahi that all South-East governors, including PDP’s Mbah, were working for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and would soon endorse him for 2027.
Saraki arrived in Enugu Friday with former Governors Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo, signalling the PDP’s desperation to retain its foothold in the critical South-East zone.
