Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State will on Saturday disburse the sum of N4billion as empowerment grants to farmers and traders at a Town square meeting in Oron.
The exercise will also feature Small and Medium Scale Business grants of up to N5billion Naira and Equipment support for local businesses.
Mr Aniekan Umanah, the Commissioner for Information who disclosed this said it is all in continuation of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Town Square Meeting and Empowerment Series.
“This important event follows the successful inaugural town hall meeting held in the Abak Federal Constituency on March 8, 2025, where constituents presented their Needs Document and unanimously endorsed Governor Umo Eno for a return to the Government House in 2027”.
“The Oron event is expected to attract stakeholders and residents from all five Local Government Areas of the Oron Federal Constituency – Oron, Mbo, Okobo, Udung Uko, and Urue Offong-Oruko”.
The Commissioner said the session will provide an interactive platform for dialogue and empowerment, reinforcing Governor Umo Eno’s commitment through the ARISE Agenda to addressing community needs and gathering input toward the formulation of the 2026 People’s Budget.
“This series of engagements underscores Governor Umo Eno’s dedication to inclusive governance. The Arise Town Square Meeting aims to strengthen community bonds and foster a collaborative environment for the sustainable development of Akwa Ibom State”, he said.
