The Yobe State Police Command, Gujba Divisional Police Headquarters, has dismantled a kidnapping den in an operation that led to the rescue of two abducted victims and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the police said its operatives worked closely with local vigilantes in its ongoing efforts to ensure security across the state.
The statement said,
“Following a distress call from an eyewitness in Buni Yadi. The police, with crucial community support, swiftly identified the den and stormed the location after a gun battle.
“While the culprits escaped with injuries, they abandoned the victims and left behind the AK-47 rifle with two magazines loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition.”
The statement further said, “The victims were rescued unhurt and taken to the hospital for medical checkups.”
Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, lauded the personnel involved in the operation.
He also reiterated his commitment to collaborating with community members to safeguard lives and property.
“Efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing culprits for subsequent prosecution,” the statement concluded, affirming the police’s continued pursuit of justice.
