The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the resumption of services on the Ujevwu-Itakpe rail line, linking Delta and Kogi States, beginning Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
This comes after weeks of suspension, during which maintenance and operational assessments were carried out on the route.
According to the NRC, the temporary suspension allowed for vital inspections and improvements to ensure the safety and reliability of train services.
The corporation has assured passengers of enhanced service delivery as operations resume along the strategic corridor that connects the South-South to the North-Central region of the country.
It added that while Passengers who opted for ticket refunds during the suspension period have been fully reimbursed, those who chose not to request refunds have the option to revalidate their existing tickets.
It advised affected passengers to revalidate through the Rail Line E-Ticketing platform for any preferred travel date.
To provide further assistance to travelers, the NRC has released a dedicated support line so passengers can contact the Rail Line ticketing service for inquiries regarding bookings, ticket validation, or other related concerns.
The Ujevwu-Itakpe rail line will now operate six days a week—Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays—while Thursdays are set aside for the routine maintenance of tracks and rolling stock.
