The Ministry of Interior has unveiled a new digital platform for citizenship and business management services.
In a statement released on Saturday, Magdalene Ajani, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, explained that the online system has been designed to simplify applications and processing for citizenship and business-related matters.
Ajani emphasised that the platform would deliver quicker processing times and an enhanced experience for users.
The Permanent Secretary noted that this initiative forms part of the ministry’s broader modernisation programme, which focuses on increasing transparency, boosting operational efficiency, and substantially improving public service standards.
“Members of the public, corporate entities, and other stakeholders are expected to access the platform through the following official channels: Ministry of Interior Website: interior.gov.ng; Direct Portal Access: candb.interior.gov.ng; They could also contact candb-support@interior.gov.ng for support or inquiries,” the statement reads.
“The Ministry of Interior remains committed to establishing a more efficient, transparent, and secure framework for citizenship administration, while continuously enhancing service delivery through digital transformation.”
This development follows several months after the ministry implemented key initiatives aligned with the government’s Renewed Hope agenda.
In February, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, announced that the Federal Government would introduce pre-arrival landing and exit cards for prospective visitors to complete before entering Nigeria.
The minister emphasised the necessity to integrate the immigration data centre and establish unified systems for migration-related decision-making.
He stressed that this consolidated approach would ensure real-time coordination, making it impossible to grant approvals without first obtaining clearance from INTERPOL, the criminal records system, and all relevant background-checking agencies.
