The All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North West zone has unanimously passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and endorsed him as the zone’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The resolution was made during the APC zonal Stakeholders Meeting, hosted in Kaduna by Senator Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State and Coordinating Governor of the North West Zone.
The high-profile meeting was attended by key party leaders, including the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, the Deputy President of the Senate, Governors of Kebbi and Jigawa States, the Deputy Governor of Katsina, federal ministers, National and State Assembly members, and other top party officials.
Governor Uba Sani, in his opening remarks, commended President Tinubu for his “uncommon support” to the North West, citing major interventions in infrastructure, security, and agriculture.
He also highlighted the zone’s strong representation in the federal government, including the appointment of two service chiefs and 12 ministers.
Following the governor’s remarks, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas moved a motion for a vote of confidence in President Tinubu, praising his “progressive governance, inclusive leadership, and unwavering support to the good people of the North West.”
The motion was seconded by Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, and received overwhelming approval from the stakeholders.
At the end of the meeting, Governor Uba Sani read a communiqué outlining the stakeholders’ resolutions. They lauded the President for his bold reforms and commitment to Nigeria’s progress, particularly in the North West, and noted significant security gains that have allowed farmers to return to their fields and communities to enjoy stability.
The zone’s unprecedented inclusion in federal appointments, including 12 ministers and key legislative roles, was highlighted as a mark of recognition, while major infrastructure projects across the North West were acknowledged as signs of renewed development. The stakeholders also attributed the APC’s growing unity and national appeal to the performance of President Tinubu and APC governors.
The meeting concluded with a call for party members to remain focused and work towards securing an overwhelming victory for Tinubu and the APC in 2027. “The opposition is in disarray,” Governor Uba Sani stated. “But we must not be complacent. If we continue delivering on our mandates, the opposition stands no chance.” The stakeholders urged unity and determination to consolidate the APC’s dominance in the North West and beyond.
