President Bola Tinubu has received the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting marks the monarch’s first official audience with Tinubu since his coronation on April 12, 2025.
The monarch arrived at the Villa on Friday afternoon after the Jumaat prayers and was ushered in shortly after the President’s closed-door briefing with service chiefs and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
During Owoade’s coronation in Oyo town, Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, had urged the monarch to “foster the unity of the Yoruba nation and strengthen the bonds holding Nigeria together.”
