The Senate is holding a valedictory session in honour of late elder statesman and politician, Chief Edwin Clark.
The foremost nationalist and renowned Ijaw leader, had died on February 17, 2025 at the age of 97 years.
As a former senator himself and national leader, the Senate is paying him tributes.
Members of his family and close associates are witnessing the session.
Those attending include Sen. James Manager; Sen. Florence Ita Giwa; Sen. Ibok Essien; Sen. Bassey Ewa Henshaw; Prof. C.C. Clark; Rebecca Clark; Ebikeme Clark; Ebipere Clark
Ebibade Clark; and Hon Julius Pondi.
The session is presided over by the President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill.
The Senate described him as “a great man of honour and elder statesman par excellence”, whose wise counsel would be missed.
