Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has ordered the immediate suspension of the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, following allegations of serious financial and official misconduct.
In a government special announcement, the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., disclosed that the suspension was necessitated by grave allegations against Dr. Oahimire.
“The suspension is with immediate effect to allow for an unfettered investigation into allegations of grave financial and official infractions leveled against the Executive Secretary,” Ikhilor said.

Pending the outcome of a detailed investigation, the announcement stated that the most senior official within the agency has been directed to assume responsibility in an acting capacity.
“The most senior officer is to oversee the affairs of the agency pending the conclusion of investigations by a special committee that will soon be inaugurated,” he added.
The government further stated that a special committee would be constituted to thoroughly investigate the allegations and submit its findings to the Governor for appropriate action.
“Governor Okpebholo remains committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance across all levels of administration in Edo State,” the Secretary to the State Government emphasized.
