The Police Command in Bauchi State has arrested five suspected drug trafficke in connection with illegal substances in Bauchi metropolis.
This was contained in a press statement by Spokesman of the Bauchi State Police Command, CSP Ahmed Wakil and made available to journalists in Bauchi. It states that the suspects were arrested on Sunday, 27th April at about 10:00 a.m.
“The Command’s Monitoring Unit, led by CSP Abdulrazak Pada, carried out a strategic operation in response to valuable intelligence on drug activities. This initiative focused on disrupting drug trafficking in Bayan Gari, within the metropolitan area of Bauchi.
“During this operation, a comprehensive search was performed on several local shops, leading to the apprehension of the suspects,” he said.
He identified the suspects as Adamu Muhammed, male, 35 years; Mrs. Okwudili Chikezic, female, 50 years; Sunday Anaco, male, 25 years; Miss Maryam Ahmed, female, 20 years (all residents of the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi); and Tijjani Adamu, male, 20 years old, from Miri, Bauchi LGA.
Wakil said that prohibited substances recovered were: 30 sachets of tramadol tablets, 22 bottles of assorted ICE syrups, 3 Penta injections, 10 sachets of Diazepam tablets, and 5 ICE bunkers.
“During questioning, the defendants acknowledged their roles in drug trafficking and expressed their willingness to cooperate with law enforcement to facilitate further recoveries.
“The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, psc(+), mni, commended the officers for their commitment to community safety and effectiveness during this operation. He has mandated a thorough investigation to be conducted, ensuring accountability and justice for the individuals involved. Following this process, the defendants will be officially profiled and charged to court to address the charges against them,” he added.
