Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has injected over 4 billion Naira to Bauchi state tourism sector to install solar energy and other facilities.
This was disclosed by the Tourism Commissioner Alhaji Abdullahi Hassan when he spoke to journalists in his office.
Hassan said ‘Yankari Game Reserve and Resort,the famous world class tourist destination is being installed with Solar power at the cost of N2.7 billion.
This is to upgrade tourism facilities and boost the sector’s for pleasure seekers,researchers in the state’s rich culture, flora and fauna.
The boost is also to generate more tourists in-flow and generate revenue for the state and federal governmants.
The Solar power will provide adequate to the facility’s current and future consumtion’.
Besides the Solar power almost a billion naira will be spent on renovation, upgrading and provision of desirable amenities for tourists”.
On Sumu Park where Giraffes, Zebras and other animals are, the Commissioner revealed”a sum of N 1 billion is to utilized for the constrution of a befitting 13.5 kilometer access road from Kafin-Madaki into Sumu Park”.
Similarly, N98,782,155 will be used for the provision of an Administrative Block in Sumu Park.
Out of this amount, N30960 362.18 is earmarked for construction of a restaurant,vwhile N20665277:29 will be expended on accommodation at the park.
According to him, an earth dam is being constructed to provide enough clean water for the animals in park in and additives.
Hassan also hinted the Gov.Bala Mohamned is ready to upgrade all tourism attractions in the state.

Arrangements are also being made to bring in a variety of animals to the Sumu Park to attract more visitors.
