Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo North Senatorial District have unanimously endorsed Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole for a second term in the National Assembly, effectively shutting down any potential intra-party contest for the seat.
The endorsement came during a high-level caucus meeting in Iyamho, Oshiomhole’s hometown, shortly after a security summit with Governor Monday Okpebholo to address rising security threats in the district.
The meeting, which was attended by key APC stakeholders, including the Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, shifted from security deliberations to political strategy, culminating in a forceful declaration of support for Oshiomhole’s re-election.
When Momoh raised the question of continuity, the response was immediate and unequivocal: a thunderous acclamation from the room, with no dissenting voices. The leaders collectively declared, “No vacancy in Edo North Senate seat,” reinforcing their commitment to Oshiomhole’s leadership.
Among the prominent figures present were former Minister of Budget and National Planning, Hon. Clement Agba; APC stalwart Chief Francis Alimikhena; South-South strategist Dr. Blessing Agbomhere; House of Representatives member Hon. Dekeri Anamero; and grassroots mobiliser Chief Abu Millionaire, among others.
Earlier, the leaders had met with Governor Okpebholo to address escalating insecurity in Etsako, Owan, and Akoko-Edo, agreeing on a joint state-federal security plan.
