Bauchi State Government has warned contractors handling various road projects in the state to adhere strictly to project specifications, ensuring quality work and timely completion of the project or risk contract termination.
The Hon. Commissioner Bauchi State Ministry of works and Transport, Engr. Prof. Titus Saul Ketkuka, gave the warning during an unscheduled visit to some selected road projects in Bauchi Township.
He expressed the desire of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad in ensuring quality infrastructure is provided to the good people of the state.
The projects site visited by the Commissioner includes: Designed and construction of Gwallameji – Doka – Rafin Zurfi – Dass Road (2.6km), Sabon Kaura – Birshi Gandu – Bauchi Radio Cooperation BRC Road (4.5km) and construction of Zango – Gwallagan Mayaka (4km).
Prof. Ketkuka while making on – the – spot assessment of these projects, expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by the Habibu Engineering Nigerian Limited and advised them to redouble effort for the timely completion of all these projects.
According to him Governor Bala administration would not condole laxity on the part of contractors, noting that all projects were people oriented, initiated to uplift the living condition of citizens and therefore re- emphasizing his Ministry’s position of not compromising delay or breach of any contract agreement.
In their separate remarks on behalf of the Habibu Engineering Nigerian Limited, the company’s Project Managers whose sites were inspected by the commissioner, Engr. Zulfiqra Khan and Engr. Basel Usman appreciated this administration for affording them an opportunity to be partners on the development of Bauchi State.
The Habibu Engineering Nigerian Limited promised to maintain the speed pace of the project and ensure project completion with best quality expected as enshrine in the contract agreement.
On his part the Community Head of Sabon Garin Gwallameji who double as the Sarkin Yamman Galadiman Bauchi Malam Hassan Ibrahim commended Governor Bala Muhammad for bringing development to their door step.
Malam Hassan appreciated the work done and expressed readiness of Gwallameji community to continue to support the Government project by cooperating with the Ministry and the contractor to deliver quality work .
