The Edo State Government has received the official report containing the names, numbers, and next of kin of the 16 victims of the recent killings in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area.
According to the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the list of survivors has also been submitted to the Edo State Government.
Gwarzo disclosed this while presenting the findings of the committee set up by the Kano State Government to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in Benin City.
He said, “The Governor of Kano State set up a committee to screen and verify the names, numbers, next of kin, and survivors of the attack. We have successfully carried out these activities and have compiled a report which we are here to present to Your Excellency.
“You assured us that justice will be served, and we believe in your commitment, Mr. Governor. We seek a transparent process on this issue. Sixteen persons lost their lives, spanning five local government areas of Kano State,” he explained.
In his response, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, stated:
“This incident has opened our eyes, and we are ready to address many issues concerning the country and how to make life better for all of us. The President is deeply concerned about this tragedy and is determined to ensure justice is done.
“The President personally wants to see this matter through to the very end. I want to assure you that we will do everything within our power to ensure justice prevails and that the culprits are brought to book,” Okpebholo added.
