…As Head of Service, Bayoko, Retires
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged public servants to serve with integrity and diligence. He made the call on Saturday at the retirement thanksgiving of the outgoing Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, in Asaba.
Oborevwori praised Bayoko for his dedication and resilience throughout his career. He described him as a role model for young civil servants.
“We are here to celebrate a remarkable career and a well-deserved retirement,” the governor said. “For 35 years, Bayoko served with distinction, including nearly a decade as Head of Service.”
The governor emphasized the need for patience in career growth. “Some want to rise too quickly,” he noted. “Promotion comes in due time. Some even alter their date of birth to avoid retirement.”
Oborevwori commended Bayoko for his humility and leadership. He expressed confidence that Bayoko’s wisdom and experience would continue to benefit society.
In his sermon, Bishop Chuka Agwuegbo urged leaders to acknowledge God’s role in their success. He warned that forgetting God after achieving greatness often leads to downfall.
Bayoko expressed gratitude to God, Governor Oborevwori, and past governors for the opportunity to serve. He described his career as fulfilling and thanked colleagues for their support.
