The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone B (South-South) has condemned the killing of suspected kidnappers in Uromi, Edo State.
In a statement on Saturday, NANS Zone B Coordinator, Comrade Isaac I. Ogieva, described the killings as tragic and unacceptable. He urged citizens to avoid jungle justice and allow the law to take its course.
“We appeal to the public to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands. Upholding the rule of law is essential for justice and peace,” Ogieva said.
The students’ body also called for urgent collaboration between the Edo State Government, security agencies, and community leaders to address the security crisis.
“We urge the government and security operatives to take proactive steps to prevent further bloodshed and ensure the safety of all citizens,” the statement added.
The incident has sparked concerns about rising insecurity in the state, with calls for swift government intervention.
