The member representing Etsako West 1 constituency in the Edo State Assembly, Honourable Hussein Lecky, has called for calm and peace as the Police make arrests after the recent mob killings in Uromi.
Recall that in the attack, travelers were accosted and lynched. The incident has sparked widespread concern.

In a statement, Hon. Lecky urged residents to trust Governor Monday Okpebholo who has launched a full investigation. The case has also gained national attention. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has issued a statement on the matter.
“I understand that people are angry. Our homes and farms have been ravaged. Our loved ones have been kidnapped. However, we must not resort to lawlessness,” Hon. Lecky said. “Governor Okpebholo is working tirelessly with security forces. He has met with the Chief of Air Staff to enhance security.”
Hon. Lecky reminded Edo residents of their communal nature. He urged them not to let this tragedy change the state’s reputation. He called on citizens to support law enforcement. He asked them to report suspicious activities instead of taking the law into their own hands.
“See something, say something. If you notice any criminal activity, report it to the police,” he advised.
He also appealed for unity and prayers. He reminded people that this is the Ramadan and Lenten season. He urged them to seek forgiveness and peace instead of inciting violence.
“A New Edo has Risen. Let us work together for a better society,” he concluded.
