The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has urged sports coaches to intensify preparations for the 2025 National Sports Festival.
In a statement by his Media Officer, Mr. Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele emphasized the need for Team Edo to aim for top honors. He called for a thorough assessment of strengths and challenges while setting clear targets for victory.
“We are not just going to the festival to participate; we are going to win medals. It will not be business as usual because our amiable Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is deeply committed to advancing sports in Edo State,” he stated.
He stressed that success is a collective effort and urged coaches to deliver results in exchange for the commission’s full support. “This is critical to our progress,” he added.
Enabulele encouraged the coaches to approach the festival with unwavering determination. “Go out there and bring back results. We want to collect as many medals as possible and emerge as the top team,” he charged.
He reassured them that his leadership remains committed to addressing any challenges affecting performance. “Our core mandate, in line with the vision of Governor Monday Okpebholo and Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, is to restore Edo State’s prominence in sports at both national and international levels.”
Concluding the session, he urged the coaches to work together for Team Edo’s success, reinforcing the state’s commitment to sports development.
The 2025 National Sports Festival will take place in Abeokuta, Ogun State, from May 16 to May 30, 2025.
