Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, says those who questioned his educational qualifications have been proven wrong.
Speaking on Friday in Asaba, he welcomed the Executive Committee of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Alumni Association Worldwide.
“During the 2023 campaign, some people spread false claims that I never went to school,” Oborevwori said. “Today, their lies have been exposed.”
He expressed gratitude for the Hero’s Award and Award of Excellence given to him. “I have great respect for AAU. I did my BSc full-time and graduated with a 2:1. I also completed my MSc full-time at Delta State University, Abraka.”
The governor recalled his struggles as a student. “We fetched water to bathe before class. It wasn’t easy, but Ekpoma builds resilience,” he said.
He pledged personal support for the alumni’s ongoing N500 million project—a Computerized Examination and Records Building.
AAU Alumni President, Dr. Clifford Omozeghian, praised Oborevwori’s achievements. “As our first alumnus to become governor, we are proud. The new building will be named after him,” he announced.
He called on the governor to assist in completing the project. “Your leadership is a testament to AAU’s excellence,” Omozeghian added.
