The Delta State College of Nursing Sciences has withdrawn a query issued to Student Nurse Osato Edobor over an alleged unauthorized social media post.
Edobor was initially queried for recording and posting a video during the arrival of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the Dome Event Center in Asaba on March 25, 2025. The First Lady was in Delta State for the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme, where she distributed 10,000 professional kits to midwives in the South-South region.

The college, in a letter signed by its provost, Mrs. Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, had accused Edobor of violating disciplinary regulations as stated in the student handbook. She was given 24 hours to explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against her.
However, in a new development, the Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, has directed the school to withdraw the query. In a follow-up letter, the provost instructed Edobor to return the query letter through the student affairs officer.
“The school authority regrets any inconvenience this must have caused the state,” the letter stated.
The decision has sparked discussions among students and observers, with some seeing it as a fair resolution while others question the initial disciplinary action.
