President Bola Tinubu has directed a comprehensive investigation into the devastating tanker explosion that rocked Karu, a bustling suburb of Abuja, on Wednesday night. The incident, which occurred during peak hours, led to multiple accidents, significant property damage, and the tragic loss of lives.
In a press release issued by the Statehouse on Thursday, President Tinubu expressed his deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the inferno. He described the incident as a “heartbreaking tragedy” and assured the public that the government would take all necessary steps to prevent such occurrences in the future.
The President also mandated that the injured receive priority treatment at medical facilities across the capital. He urged healthcare providers to ensure that all victims have access to the best possible care during this difficult time.
Furthermore, President Tinubu called on security agencies, particularly those responsible for road safety, to intensify their efforts in monitoring and managing traffic around Abuja’s entry and exit points. He emphasized the need for stricter enforcement of safety regulations to avert similar incidents.
In his statement, the President prayed for the souls of the departed and asked for divine comfort for the bereaved families. “May the Almighty God grant the families of the deceased the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.
