Former Vice President and opposition leader, Atiku Abubakar, is set to lead a coalition of political leaders in a press conference today at 10:00 AM.
The event will take place at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre in Abuja and will address President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
The coalition, comprising leaders from various political parties and civil society groups, is expected to voice their concerns over the president’s decision, which they describe as an overreach of executive power and a threat to democracy.
Atiku, who has been a vocal critic of the Tinubu administration, is expected to call for the immediate restoration of democratic structures in Rivers State and urge the National Assembly to reject the president’s declaration.
