Former governor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has launched a scathing attack on Governor Siminalayi Fubara, accusing him of being led astray by a circle of “bad advisers.”
Wike claimed that Fubara’s inner circle is filled with individuals who harbour gubernatorial ambitions and are providing destructive counsel, leaving the governor “2-0 down” in his political career.
Speaking at a thanksgiving gathering held in his honour in Rivers State on Saturday, at Alabama Secondai School, Wike didn’t hold back, recalling how he had warned Fubara about the ill intentions of those surrounding him.
“I told him these people don’t mean well for Rivers State, but he didn’t listen. Now, look at where bad advice has landed him. You are already down 2-0, and there’s more to coming”, Wike declared.
The tension escalated as Wike pointed to Fubara’s controversial decision to withhold the salaries of assembly members for over a year, a move many had cautioned against. “People told him nothing would happen, but now something has happened,” Wike stated ominously, hinting at further political fallout.
